Before I get to the cabinet…
THIS IS OUR BATHROOM!!!!
Can you sense my excitement?? After 2 years of this…
Can you believe it??? A floor!!! :)
We’re on a roll, and I have a ton of stuff to do so that the project can keep moving – ordering a sink top and a tub (clawfoot! yay!), but I wanted to share this quick Ikea hack before I get to work.
When I was shopping for the office, my first priority had to be storage space. We turned the closet in this room into a computer nook, so all of the games that were in the closet had to find a home somewhere.
I chose the Besta cabinet, and was able to fit 3 of them along the wall. The only problem with the cabinet (for me), is that they have a modern look, when obviously I prefer a cottage look.
Cover each of the door fronts with beadboard wallpaper.
Use a miter box to cut trim pieces to fit as a frame around the outside of the door. (I used my favorite inexpensive trim from Home Depot – this one is a 2.5″ wide casing.)
Caulk all of the gaps. My measuring and cutting is not always the best, so I had lots of gaps. The caulk hides so many flaws!
Add crystal knobs. Or whatever knobs. I love the little crystal ones.
The cabinet still has a modern feel, with a little cottage character. And it was so easy!
Now on to the bathroom project…
